Armada Hotel Wedding: Hannah and Francis’s Day in Spanish Point

Armada Hotel wedding film – Hannah & Francis, Spanish Point, Co. Clare

An Armada Hotel wedding in Spanish Point, Co. Clare

Hannah and Francis celebrated their wedding on the Wild Atlantic Way – with a ceremony at St Joseph’s Church in Milltown Malbay and a reception at the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point, Co. Clare, right on the edge of the Atlantic.

Watch their wedding film above – and below, a look at how their Armada Hotel wedding unfolded, with a few tips if you are planning your own day in West Clare.

Getting ready

The morning was all about the details: Hannah’s engagement ring, pearl earrings, a sparkling silver tiara and a lace gown with a high neck and long sleeves. A helping hand with her earrings, a long cathedral veil and the biggest smile – and Hannah was ready.

Ceremony at St Joseph’s Church, Milltown Malbay

Hannah and Francis were married at St Joseph’s Church in Milltown Malbay, Co. Clare, where the aisle was lined with tall white blossom trees. They walked back down the aisle arm in arm as husband and wife.

Portraits on the Wild Atlantic Way

Back at the Armada Hotel, the wind off the Atlantic made Hannah’s long veil fly across the lawn above the bay – one of the most beautiful moments of the day. A few quiet minutes overlooking the sea with Francis were all we needed for portraits.

Reception at the Armada Hotel

Inside, a three-tier white cake with gold leaf, blush roses and a personalised topper was waiting by the tall windows – and cutting it together was one of the sweetest moments of the evening.

Planning an Armada Hotel wedding? A few tips

Embrace the Atlantic weather. Wind and soft grey light on the Clare coast make for dramatic, cinematic portraits – a long veil looks incredible in the breeze.

Use the sea views. The lawns and terraces above Spanish Point bay are just steps from the hotel, so portraits take only a few minutes.

Think about the church décor. Blossom trees or flowers along the aisle look beautiful in both photos and film.
