Great Southern Killarney Wedding: Grace and Thomas’s Day in Kerry

Great Southern Killarney wedding film – Grace & Thomas, Killarney, Co. Kerry

A Great Southern Killarney wedding in Co. Kerry

Grace and Thomas celebrated their wedding at the Great Southern Killarney – the elegant Victorian hotel in the heart of Killarney, Co. Kerry. With soft, moody light, a sparkling veil and the Kerry mountains as a backdrop, their day made for a beautifully cinematic film.

Watch their wedding film above – and below, a look at how their Great Southern Killarney wedding unfolded, with a few tips if you are planning your own day in Killarney.

Getting ready at the Great Southern Killarney

The morning began in the hotel’s bridal suite: Grace’s off-the-shoulder gown hanging in front of a framed Irish landscape painting, make-up and Hollywood waves in progress, and a champagne toast with her bridesmaids in matching rust satin robes.

Once ready, Grace stepped into her dress and long, sparkling cathedral veil – a quiet moment by the tall window before heading out to meet Thomas.

Portraits at the Gap of Dunloe

Despite the rain, Grace and Thomas headed out to the Gap of Dunloe – one of the most dramatic mountain passes near Killarney – for their portraits. The wind in Grace’s hair and veil, the rugged Kerry hillsides and a lot of laughter gave us some of our favourite frames of the day.

Celebrations at the Great Southern Killarney

Back at the hotel, the newlyweds walked through a glass walkway dressed with greenery and candles before joining their guests. The night ended with a sparkler send-off, with family and friends lighting up the way.

Planning a Great Southern Killarney wedding? A few tips

Make time for the scenery. Killarney and its surrounding mountains are spectacular – even a short drive for portraits gives you photos and film you will treasure.

Use the light indoors. The hotel’s tall windows and classic interiors are perfect for elegant bridal portraits while getting ready.

Plan a sparkler exit. A sparkler send-off at the end of the night looks magical on film – ask your venue coordinator about timing.
