An Aran Islands Hotel wedding on Inis Mór
Chloe and Tom celebrated their wedding at the Aran Islands Hotel on Inis Mór, the largest of the Aran Islands off the coast of Co. Galway. Stone walls, wild Atlantic views and a community that turns out for a wedding – there are few places in Ireland quite like it.

Getting ready
The morning was full of laughter. Chloe and her bridesmaids, in matching grey satin robes and heart-shaped sunglasses, filled the house with fun before things got a little more emotional: her mum helping with the sparkling shoes, a quiet moment by the window and a long, tearful hug with her grandmother.
The church ceremony
Chloe walked down the aisle of a beautiful stone church on the island on her dad’s arm, carrying a colourful wildflower bouquet, with family and friends standing on either side. Chloe and Tom lit their unity candle together at the altar – a simple, beautiful moment surrounded by flowers.
Portraits on Inis Mór
Afterwards we explored the island: the famous dry-stone walls, winding lanes and wide green fields, and the shore with the Atlantic stretching out behind them. Tom’s burgundy velvet jacket and Chloe’s wildflower bouquet looked incredible against the soft grey island light.

The celebrations carried on in the marquee at the Aran Islands Hotel, with a packed dance floor and family and friends cheering Chloe and Tom on through their first dance.
Planning an Aran Islands wedding? A few tips
Plan the travel early. Guests reach Inis Mór by ferry or a short flight, so share the details well in advance.
Use the island itself. The stone walls, lanes and beaches are just minutes from the hotel – perfect for portraits and film.
Embrace the weather. Soft, misty island light is beautiful on camera, so don’t worry about grey skies.
