A Glasson Lakehouse wedding on Lough Ree
Rachel and Conor celebrated their wedding at Glasson Lakehouse, near Athlone in Co. Westmeath – a stylish lakeside hotel with sweeping views over Lough Ree. A soft, misty Irish day, a beautiful dried-flower bouquet and a couple who couldn’t stop smiling made for a wonderfully atmospheric film.

Getting ready
The morning started with the details: sparkling bow sandals, a string of pearls, a bottle of Jo Malone, the engagement ring resting on the leaf-printed wedding stationery and Rachel’s dried-flower bouquet of pampas grass, white fern, baby’s breath and gilded leaves.
Rachel got ready with her mum by her side, while the flower girls – in floral crowns – waited patiently with their little bouquets.
The groom
Meanwhile Conor waited by the window in his grey tweed three-piece suit, with a big smile that said everything about the day ahead.
Portraits by Lough Ree
Glasson Lakehouse is all about the water, so we headed down to the jetty with its rowing boats and out onto the deck overlooking Lough Ree. The mist rolling over the lake, the wind catching Rachel’s veil and the moody winter light made every frame feel like a film still.
Speeches and celebrations
Back inside, the celebrations were full of laughter – from hugs during the speeches to Rachel’s joyful entrance into the dining room, cheered on by family and friends.

Use the lake. The jetty, the rowing boats and the deck overlooking Lough Ree are just steps from the hotel – perfect for portraits and film.
Don’t fear the weather. Mist and grey skies over the lake look stunning on camera and give your photos and film a beautiful, cinematic mood.
Think about your details. A dried-flower bouquet like Rachel’s looks beautiful all day – and in every season.
