A Rathsallagh House wedding in Co. Wicklow
Olivia and Hugo were married in June 2024 at St. Finian’s Church in Kilquiggan, Co. Wicklow, before celebrating with family and friends at Rathsallagh House near Dunlavin. It was a day full of laughter – and as their wedding videographer, I was there from the first brush of make-up to the last glass of the champagne tower.

Getting ready
The morning was relaxed and full of fun: bubbles poured for the bridesmaids, plenty of laughter in the make-up chair and a “The Bride” fan that found its way into more than one frame. The details were beautiful too – an elegant invitation suite with a wax seal and the couple’s monogram, pearl-trimmed shoes and a pear-shaped engagement ring.
The ceremony at St. Finian’s Church, Kilquiggan
The ceremony took place at St. Finian’s Church in Kilquiggan, with the pews dressed in soft pink and white flowers. Olivia’s bridesmaids, in matching champagne satin, watched every moment from the front – and the walk back down the aisle as husband and wife, to applause from family and friends, was pure joy.
Portraits at Rathsallagh House
Back at Rathsallagh House, we found quiet corners for portraits: under the ivy-covered pergola, against the white walls of the old house and in the wood-panelled rooms, where soft window light makes everything look timeless.
Then it was time for the bridal party – bouquets in the air on the lawn, lots of cheering, and a champagne tower that Olivia and Hugo took on together.
Planning a Rathsallagh House wedding? A few tips
Use the house itself. The ivy, the white walls and the old sash windows make a ready-made backdrop – you don’t need to go far for beautiful portraits.
Look for window light. The panelled rooms inside are perfect for moody, romantic portraits, whatever the Irish weather is doing.
Leave time for the bridal party. The lawns are ideal for relaxed, fun group photos and film.
